The freight industry is still continually facing empty container dehire issues in Sydney. This has been going on since SEP2020 where container parks have been rejecting boxes due to to being at full capacity with clients scrambling to find alternative storage solutions – for EMPTY containers.

Please note that China Australia Trade has already been affected by the Corona Virus Outbreak in China. Many shipping lines have opted to cancel sailings out of China and Australian Customs have placed a minimum 14 day quarantine period for vessels before berthing in Australia
We expect that trade volumes will be greatly affected as the roll on will filter down to AUS in FEB through to MAR and APR.

The Maritime Union has given DP World Notice of Intention to take Protected Industrial Action on 4-5/4/19 & 10-11/4/19 and 1-2/5/19.
4/4 – 24 Hour Stoppage, No slots from 0500 4/4 until 0500 5/4. Resume work 0600 5/4.
10/4 – 24 Hour Stoppage, No slots from 0500 10/4 until 0500 11/4. Resume work 0600 11/4.
1/5 – 24 Hour Stoppage, No slots from 0500 1/5 until 0500 2/5 0500. Resume work 0600 2/5.

Maersk announced that they would implement 3month blank sailings of their YOYO (AAUS) service
Carriers have announced the planned GRI implementation for in Apr.
CAT Service will cancel Ningbo port call for April meaning 4 services calling Ningbo
